Medhnaa Saran is the co-founder and president of the Touch of Life Foundation. She began her journey eight years ago at Kailash Satyarthis orphanages and since then has wanted to make a difference to help children who have been victims of child labor and human trafficking. She has hosted many bake sales, events, and clothing drives to raise funds and clothes for rescued children. Additionally, she has spoken to congressmen and representatives to amend laws and spread awareness about this cause. She is currently working on the “Not My Child” campaign for schools to have mandatory annual assemblies for students to notice the signs and inform them about child trafficking and labor. Medhnaa is a sophomore at Pinnacle Academy in Northern Virginia. In Medhnaa’s free time, she enjoys playing competitive golf, robotics, and mentoring teams in science and math competitions.

Kushaan Saran is the co-founder and vice president of the Touch of Life Foundation and is currently in 9th grade at Pinnacle Academy.  He has organized sports tournaments and bake sales to raise funds for victims of child trafficking as well as have had clothes drives for these victims.  Kushaan enjoys robotics and is on the engineering and programming team of his high school’s FRC team where his team took first place in the regionals this past year.  He also competes in Science Olympiad and is in the National Honor Society. Kushaan is an avid golfer and competes in local and national tournaments. Kailash Satyarthi, the 2014 Nobel Laureate was his inspiration and has guided him and Medhnaa on how they can make a difference in this fight against child trafficking and labor.

Arya is a freshman at Sherwood High School. Arya has been heavily involved with Touch Of Life since it’s inception. She is a compassionate and driven individual that spends time volunteering for local community organizations such as, Touch of Life and Manna. Arya has a love of sports and enjoys playing basketball and field hockey. Along with sports she has been passionate about dancing from a very young age. Arya has explored the arts of Bollywood, Bhangra, and  Bharatnayam. She is looking forward to serving on the board and making a difference.

Nayan Iyer is a fourteen year old who is a freshman at James Madison High School. He feels strongly about volunteering for the Touch of Life foundation because it is important for every child to be with their family and have the opportunity to succeed. He is currently involved with spearheading educational outreach for the foundation in Northern Virginia community elementary schools. He wants to make a difference in the community to ensure avenues for enrichment are available to all children. In his free time, he enjoys reading and biking. He also participates in Science Bowl and Science Olympiad. 

Avani Mehta is a member of the Touch Of Life Foundation’s Board Of Directors. She assists with the fundraising aspect for the organization. Over the last year she has brought in hundreds of pieces of clothing and books for distribution to kids on behalf of the organization. She is a student at James Madison High School in Northern Virginia. Avani enjoys reading, playing piano, and running. She intends to compete on the debate and track team next year. She is very grateful to be part of this wonderful organization which will help a great number of women and children around the world.

 Meghana Bhave is a sophomore at Chantilly High School and is one of the leads on the Outreach team, responsible for spreading awareness at the legislative level in order to enable county and state wide changes. She is also a member of the education team.  Meghana has a passion for Tae Kwon Do and is a 3rd degree Black belt. She enjoys drawing, running, and has an interest in using technology to find solutions to social problems.

 Jay Sikka is currently a Freshman at James Madison High School in Vienna, VA. He joined the foundation in Spring 2019. He has helped with fundraising, marketing and developing a tutoring program. He plays the Trombone in the Marching Band at his school and he is an avid coder. He likes to help others and enjoys being a part of the Touch of Life Foundation.

Fetin Hussain is a ninth grade student at Pinnacle Academy. For the past few years, he has been helping in many fundraisers to raise funds for the Touch of Life Foundation and other organizations working for welfare of children. He also help in activities that increase awareness for the cause of the foundation. He’s interested in learning about other cultures and is a resident of three countries on different continents. His hobbies are playing Basketball and Soccer,  working with computer hardware and coding, reading, spelling, and solving challenging math problems, and shopping especially at Adidas and Nike. 

Ishani Kaul is a junior in high school from Dallas, Texas. She has had the great experience of living across the country in states like California, Texas, and Virginia, where she met Medhnaa and Kushaan, who introduced her to the Touch of Life Foundation. Ishani assists Touch of Life remotely by designing flyers and posters, as well as starting online fundraising campaigns. In addition to community service through organizations like Touch of Life, Ishani plays on her high school’s basketball team, and competes in academic competitions like DECA and AcDec. Her favorite things to do include watching movies and playing piano. She is excited to work for an organization that does meaningful work for a great purpose!

Adan Eftekhari is currently 13 years old and in grade 8 at Pinnacle Academy.  He is the eldest of 3, and was born in Fairfax, Virginia. He lived there for about a year and a half before moving to Doha, Qatar for his father’s work.  After Qatar, he and his family moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates for around a year and a half, before moving back to Fairfax, Virginia. Still living in Fairfax, Virginia currently, he enjoys school a lot and loves learning.  Adan’s favorite subjects are geography, math, and science. He also really enjoys sports, and has been playing soccer for about 11 years. Adan currently plays on a local travel soccer club. Also, in his free time, he enjoys playing with friends, competing in schoolwide and nationwide competitions, studying  geography, and playing video games.
